I just got it for free, and wasn't sure if it was even worth my time.

What size tip should I use with whatever sand I should buy from Home Depot? It says it comes with 6. I figure if I use the sand, I don't have to do a GREAT job cleaning up outside.

I have a similiar Harbor Freight unit. I use 3/32" or 1/8" tips and play sand that I buy at the hardware store. Just did the ramp/tailgate for my ultility trailer yesterday and then prime it and finished by painting it today. I've not used the black sandblasting media so I don't know if it's more agressive or what. The sand gave the metal a nice matte finish without pitting it so the primer went on very smoothly.

I've got the same one. If you can supply it with a high enough quantity of dry air it will do an adequate job. For free I wouldn't turn one down.

I've bought blast media from here. The prices include shipping by priority mail. They ship it quickly too.

DON'T USE regular play sand or beach sand. This can cause silicosis (sp?) which basically can and will kill you.
