Sand blasting cabinet recommendations

I need some real world recommendations on some cabinets.
My budget is only $300. I know that is not much but I know it can be done.
My only real needs:
As big as possible
Self supporting stand
Something that seals good is a must. I hate sand everywhere.
I can always improve on stuff like lighting and guns later if needed. A good solid cabinet is most important.

I missed out on a $1000 cyclone for $300 by a day. Bummer!
So back to the drawing board. Suggestions??

Thanks!
Chad

I built one out of 1/2" plywood. I followed the general plans sold by TP Tools (but didn't buy their plans - just made my own). As long as you don't aim the gun directly at the plywood it'll last a long time. I did put a sheet of resist (rubbery stencil material used by sandblasters to make signs) on the back wall.

I use a shop vac & Dust Deputy cyclone with it.

If your budget is 300 then you're going to be stuck with a good used unit or something like this.

Well, I went to post a link but I see what I was going to link is now over 300 bucks at Summit or TSC. Here's the link to HF.

I'm guessing they all come from the same factory in chinaland.

I bought mine from the clearance section at Summit for $75. When I assembled it, I had to straighten a few panels and used gutter sealer on all seams.

Remember whatever you buy, you're going to need some type of vacuum system to pull the dust out of it. I have a small Cman shop vac that works, but it needs to be larger.

Thanks for the links. I have checked out the HF cabinet. It looks like a good box, but everyone says they leak pretty bad. I thought about building my own, but I have so many other things going, I don't know when I could do it. I love building my own tools but sometimes it's best to just buy something. I'd hold out and save a little more $ since I'm not really in a hurry. However the wife is demanding Christmas gift ideas or she gonna wing it.:shocking: If it boils down to not being able to afford a decent one right now so be it I guess.

Watch the C/L ads for everything within a couple of hundred miles.
I waited two years for the deal I got on mine. I only paid $250 for a Trinco 36" cabinet with dust extractor.
