Sand Paper Storage

I have a few full sheets, but most of my sandpaper these days is 6" disc or 1/4 sheet. Right now I store it all in a drawer of an old Snap-On top box, but that's pretty limited, and not very organized. I really like the ideas above for expanding files. Wish I could find one that is in between letter and receipt sized. 6-8" square would be ideal for me to store theo discs and 1/4 sheets.

ETA: I JUST bought a benchtop sander that came with several belts as well. I need to figure out a tidy way to store those.

I store paper in its wrapper flat on shelves.

Computer Printing Paper is stored in the Office and Sand Paper is stored on a shelf in the Workshop.

Blueprint file cabinets for me. Takes up about 3 drawers.

I made a ceiling mounted hanger for my sanding belts with some plywood and 4” PVC.

On the shelf between the motors I'll probably never use and the extra AC caps.

Never really thought much about storing sandpaper or making a special place for it.

Just stick it where there's room on the shelf.

I don't think I've ever bought a sheet of sandpaper. I use a grinder or 5" disc sander, usually 40 grit for rough pass and 80 or 120 for finish.
Just use a disc for rare times i need to hand sand.

Let me guess. You don't use air conditioning either.

5" disc sander. Orbital?

I bought a dewalt orbital and I don't like it.

I like my old porter cable 1/4 sheet palm sander better.

I tried to like the orbital but ...

I bought a dewalt orbital and I don't like it.

I like my old porter cable 1/4 sheet palm sander better.

I tried to like the orbital but ...

They are if bought new, I got mine from marketplace. Someone was remodeling and had 4 available for $250 each. I inquired if there would be a price break if I got all at once and they lowered the price to $140 each.

Then 6 months later they sent me a DM and asked if I wanted another 4 for the same price, I said yes. They are not in tip top shape, in fact a few had been overloaded and the curl at the top, that rides on the bearing has failed, but I put those drawers on the bottom and put my sandpaper in them. Works well!

I'll have to see if I can get a pic of my tool room and post up. Non of my tool boxes were(originally) intended as tool boxes.

I realized while I was out in the garage this weekend that I had some unused wall space behind the freezer, so I hung my sanding belts there.

I use my random orbit sander more than any other sander. I got a plan off the internet & modded it for my use. The box is 3/4" cabinet grade birch plywood, the pull-out shelves are hardboard/Masonite with 4" pvc pipe hot glued to it. I made a compartment below it to hold my small stash of sandpaper sheets.
