sand to mix cement

do I have to have a special type sand to mix cement with to lay some 8" block????I have about 2 tons of sand at home now cant remember the type but think its just reg. sand ..I used it to go under a pool....I have about 150 blocks I need to lay this weekend ....the block will be around my slab for my shop to put the walls on..thanks

Don't know what you got, but I've always seen white sand that has been washed and sized used in mortar.
