Thanks harley -jim....I have to admit I have no idea how to check the polarity...terrible with electricity...can you explain what I should do?
I know the red wire from both lights runs to one spade and the black to the other.....if I have it wrong how would they work at all?
Thanks
Keep your reds and blacks as you have them and reverse your wires from your transformer that are going to your reds and blacks. Led's are diodes and they do funny things if the polarity gets reversed. Usually they wont light at all.

I'll do that harley jim....you mean reverse the spades on the switch ? The wiring from the transformer only goes into the switch one way.
RJ..ahha!!!!.each light is supposed to draw just over an amp, so thats the problem right there!!!! Two of them exceed the draw rating of the transformer....
Cheers guys, this will go back and I'll make sure I get one that covers the draw.
Thank you.

Do yourself a favor and before you use the cabinet a bunch get some 3m clear protective film off Amazon around the same width as your lights and cut up a bunch of protectors. It holds up very well and $10-15 worth will probably make your lights last forever

Is that the one that came with the cabinet? Transformer?
I think the one I told you about was 5 amp.
Yes I see you bought the one from PA. That wont work with those LED lights. That's why I bought the one that I linked to you, on the second page of this thread for 18 bucks Can. That one is too light.

I remember you telling me about your transformer, but PA had a 10 year anniversary yesterday and this was on sale so I thought I'd give it a shot.....my bad!!
Not to worry...we'll work it out :)......98% done on this project now!!!! Yeah!!

So it looks like your mission is done. 90 seconds per shoe should be satisfactory eh trooper? Get your lights working and your all set. Happy blasting!

So....the Finale!!!
Here's a few photos of the finished product.....and an insight into what I'll be working on next!:)
If anyone has any input about the pressure pot I'd appreciate it.....I just inherited this and have never used one so any pointers will help.
Once again, thanks to all that helped me with this re-build, I'm now very happy with the end result.

There you go! A job well done! Well deserved results! Satisfaction. Ready to use at a moments notice. I like telling my buddies that it's like turning on the television. Plug in the air and turn on the switch and away you go. How are you making out with the shoes?
That pressure pot looks just like mine Trooper! Lots and lots of hours on mine. Did our frames on our semi trailers when I use to truck. Mine worked great but was always calling for air. They take ALOT of air. Very very dirty job. No where near as nice as using the blast cabinet. Parts/consumables for those are readily available at PA. I have a dryer and reg on mine of course. I only use mine for bigger parts with silica sand. I never ran a respirator but wish I had of. A friend of mine has one. I borrowed it once . Nice cool fresh air. Nothing to fancy to use one of those. Just like I said lots and lots of air.
All and all a great option to have.

Thanks for the tip RJ Going to see if I can check them out.
Just asked to join the group RJ. I'll let you know.

If the pot is using too much air that you have to stop and wait then go to the next size down nozzle, it makes a HUGE difference. Princess auto sells them for very cheap. Best thing I did with mine was remove the trigger for the Deadman valve and the nozzle is always open.

Like Kent said, very, very dirty job but if removes paint/rust etc. Very fast. I believe 1/8 & 3/32 tips will put you in the sweet spot for you compressor between 60-90psi

Always have air chasing through your line and shut off the media flow first then air, the thing will likely drive you mental with plugs until you figure it out

Its really a shame the intake to the gun for the media is not at an angle...I'm sure that would make a difference.
BTW J....did back the nut right out of the gun up to 12 threads ....then worked back in....Vacuum was in the dumpster until I got back to 1 and then 0.

trooper1954: I just wanted to post to let you know you are not crazy. I ordered the Eastwood blast gun and foot pedal combo in January and just got to the point today of trying the gun. I have 1/2" line running from the mixer valve to the gun and disconnected the hose at the valve to connect a vacuum gauge. The best reading I got was 12 psi with the jet screwed all the way in. That was at 60psi.

I recently acquired a HF blast cabinet. I have read thru a lot of posts on here as well as other sites. Plan to do the typical upgrades for filtering, venting, etc. I was looking at all the upgrades for the gun, pickup and issues associated with it and wondered if it would just be better to use a pressure pot as the source? If I understand it correctly the pressure pot would be more "air" efficient and reduce a lot of the problems with a siphon type system. The main draw back I see would be how long you could blast before you had to drain and refill the pot. But if it does a more efficient job, you should be able to get parts done quicker. By the time you buy all the parts to upgrade the gun problems it is about equal to a small pressure pot. Any thoughts?

Hello, since this thread is on a sand blasting cabinet project. I am also starting a project and I need to buy a compressor and a vacuum cleaner. What should be the flow rate for the compressor (not the pressure but the volume of flow) and the power of vacuum cleaner ?

I would say that 15cfm is the bottom end for reasonably continuous running.
I use a shop vac with a Dust Deputy between the cabinet and the vac.
