Sandblasting question

I have a one time sand blasting project and I need some input/advice. I am going to be cleaning the underside of a tablesaw and "wings" (craftsman 113.27520) I have talked to everyone at work to see if anyone has a sandblaster and the people that do have one don't have a compressor to run it. I have two compressors one is a 20 gallon sanborn that is my main compressor (5.5 cfh @ 90) and I also have a Harbor freight 8 gallon (4.5 cfh @90). Can I take a y connector and tie them together or would one of them back feed on the regulator and cause problems? At this point I have a co-worker willing to let me use his sand blaster and media for case of beer. Any thoughts?

Don't ask.
Yes you can tee the compressors together, or you can switch the blaster from hose to hose. You may need to take some breaks. A table saw isn't that big and you don't want to warp the material.
You can buy a cheap blaster for less than a case of beer.

Tractor supply has media, I think it's coal slag. 50# bag for $7.99. I've got a harbor freight cheap syphon blaster I'd give away for the cost of shipping. The hose is getting brittle but it still works.

Just a thought,

Keep in mind I've had lots of stuff blasted for me but I've never actually sand blasted anything myself before.

I've always felt that a grinder with a wire cup does what I need when it comes to cleaning the junk/rust off stuff, the only draw back is it's difficult to get into the hard to reach corners.

If you are working on something flat like the cutting table portion of the table saw you may be able to get away with a 4" wire cup and a grinder and Harbor freight has them for about $5.

It may not work but for $5 it could be worth a try.

Why would you feel the need to do the "underside" of a saw table? Isn't it cast iron? If so, I can only assume you want to get the rust off. If that's the case you might just brush it down with a derusting acid solution and hose it off. Then quickly coat it with your choice of whatever (bedliner paint?).
