I have a Sanborn portable and it's great. They were bought by Coleman/Powermate I believe after I bought my compressor so I don't know if they cheapened them up or not. JUST MAKE SURE IT IS BELT DRIVEN. Otherwise get a set of earmuffs with the compressor cause you're going to need them to keep from going deaf.

A buddy of mine has the 60gal and loves it. He has had it for about 2years. One thing I would highly recommend is do the break-in and then change the oil to synthetic if the machine is in an unheated area. His started hard in the winter (I live in Wisconsin) until he put synthetic in. I had the 20 gal sanborn for a few years and loved it however my needs changed and I had to upgrade. the wife forced me to sell the 20 to get my Puma 60gal. One more thing the sanborn is loud compared to my Puma

It's a good compressor. I can't believe it's listed for $400.00. That is alot of compressor for 400 bucks.

I own one. I paid $689.00 for mine and thought THAT was a screamin deal. Those have been rebranded by many names, but Sanborn was bought by Coleman Not too long ago and they both made quite a few things in the USA.

I like the compressor. Pumps up fast. Good cfm. 155 psi max. Just read the instructions for break in and do it. I have moderately used mine for two years now. Only problem is I think it is too loud while running. I live in San Francisco where the houses are on top of one another. I know my neighbors hate me when it starts up.

I stuck a piece of foam in the intake, along with the piece of filter that comes with it (as seen in picture). It quiets it down a little bit.

Sorry some of the pictures uploaded sideways.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for this review,
I was hoping someone had one.I will stop at Menards tonight and look at them. From your pic. it looks like it is belt driven. From the others and you it may still be kind of loud. But for a 100 bucks less than the others,I could turn on my selective hearing in the garage.

Hey I didn't argue the point. The best part of the whole thing was that the 20 gal was "huge" according her so when I brought home the 60 her jaw hit the floor and that's when she got mad. She was made because it was big and not because I slightly lied to her about how much I spent. I wish I had a camera rolling when I pulled up to the house, it so would have been on You Tube!

I am sure she was surprized , my wife seen a 60 gal at lowes wed. And about crapped when I said this is what I need (want).
At 499.00 at lowes she had the same look. She will be happy if I choose this one at 399.00. I will be also , to save a 100 bucks,

Princess Auto sells the same on up here. You can read some reviews there, and then chuckle at what we pay for the same items as you!

Thanks
I read the reviews on the site and all seems good. Sorry you have to pay more , I am going to look at one tonight. 399.00 here is real good.
I shop around alot when I buy. I am looking at TVs also and have been to atleast 10 stores looking. Also on the web. Think it will be a samsung 65" curved one. It drives my wife nuts That I shop around so much.
