Sanding between coats?

I am going to finish up my shop walls this week.

Drywall has been taped, pre primed, textured and tomorrow I am going to finish prime it before spraying color.

Is it necessary to stick sand between final prime and spraying paint?

My walls are a medium orange peel and are going to be light gray.

No, primer is intended as a base and needs no further prep. That is if it's clean. I will hit walls with a pole sander lightly just to knock off nibs.

I dont sand on textured walls but will sand smooth walls between coats. Makes walls look real slick when sanded.
