Sanding epoxy for recoat

Has anyone successfully sanded an epoxy floor for overcoating?

Last couple of times I tried it the epoxy was too hard for the abrasive which blunted very quickly and polished the epoxy instead of sanding it. I got nowhere so I had to use a diamond disc which easily broke through the coating on high spots - not what I wanted.

Does anyone know of a good product and method to sand an epoxy floor to prepare it for recoat?

Try a low speed floor buffer, the type used to strip wax, about 180 rpm. For the media use an 80 grit screen. It mayy load up, so get a few of them.

OK, that is something I did not have.

I use 50 grit aluminum oxide, it cuts very well. Belt driven, slow speed buffer.
