I got this hatchet at a garage sale for cheap. I like hatchets and axes, and figured this was worth something because it's Swedish. I get the impression the Swedes are good at chopping and cutting things. Like this set of nippers they make which I included in the picture along with the hatchet. I know the nipper is pretty high-end. I bought it from the Boeing surplus store and it probably cut wires on 737s. I also get the impression that if a Boeing jet plane needed a hatchet on board, it would be Swedish.

Anyone know anything about Sandvik hatchets?

The Swedes make the best axes in the world.

I don't know anything about that particular hatchet, but if it's Swedish steel and made in Sweden you can be sure it's a quality tool.

Sandvik was bought by Snap-On a decade or more ago. Not sure if that's still the case or relevant.

At any rate, I love my Sandvik pistol grip tree-cutting saw.

Wondering about this brand also, I noticed my dad has a sandvik handsaw and something about it made me say "I saw this before". Looked at Bahco tools and the logo is identical.

Just asked my dad and he said he bought it from Canadian Tire back in the day.

Whatever happened to CT tool quality.

He's got a mastercraft plastic hand tool box made in Canada, a bow saw made in Portugal, and this made in Sweden
