Sanity check my plan

I'm looking to upgrade the lighting in my garage. As it stands I have nine fixtures, just basic ceramic sockets that I had the builder install when the house was built (figured I'd work out my own lighting plans since his prices were absurd...).

I have a pack of 10 Phillips T8 90 CRI fluorescents I bought a few months back (okay, maybe a year) when I started to put shop lights in. Changed my mind about having ugly hanging lights and cords. Still have the bulbs, but returned the fixtures I bought to HD, intending to find a better solution. Fast forward to today, and it sure seems like LED it taking off. After reading some threads in this forum, I'm thinking of something like this:

(x24) 18W James LED Bypass = $263.76 shipped
(x12) MaxLite Lamp Ready Linear Utility Strip = $170 shipped

Do these MaxLite fixtures have provisions for connecting two of them in series?

My thought is to put six lights spread out across the parking/storage area of the garage (approximately 750 SF) and then six more as three groups of two over my "workshop" area (approximately 250 SF). I'm looking for plenty of light in the car/storage part of the garage and lots of light for detail work in my workshop. Will 12 fixtures be enough to achieve those goals?

Edit: Ceilings in the garage are 11.5 feet, if that matters

I'm assuming that the lack of comment means my plan is flawless. Thanks!

I am building a new 20x50 garage/workshop and I am thinking about that exact same route. The MaxLite fixtures that I found are wired to work with single ended LED tubes only.

The lack of comments is because you didn't provide enough information. It would have been useful to include a picture of these items. Also, a link to where they can be bought.

Had you included the lumens/lux specs, those knowledgeable about lighting intensity might have been able to help you.

And finally, were you asking about the lighting arrangement, or if the lighting would be bright enough?

Don't take this like we're trying to run you off the board. But please help us help you!

Are these 4' strips? Or are they round can lights? Or bases for two screw in spot lights?

(All I could deduce from your post is that each fixture fits two bulb units.)

I was quoting right out of a post by Platonic Solid which I had seen in multiple places, so I guess I kinda figured they were well understood parts. A mistaken assumption on my part, I apologize.

Most interested in 'bright enough'. The lights are evenly spaced in each section. I can draw up a diagram if that will help. I'm sorta leaning towards "probably not quite as bright as I'd like" the more I look at the math, especially in the non-workshop area of the garage.

Yes, the more I think of it, the more I think a diagram is in order. That will make it easier to get an opinion. Originally I was thinking in terms of lumens/square foot but further research suggests that it's really hard to say much based on raw numbers for that.

These are 4' LED tubes in "LED ready" fixtures (i.e. standard fluorescent fixture but no ballast provided). I believe they'll be a bit brighter than a typical T8 fluorescent would be.
