Next time you go to Sams can you take a better picture of the jack... that looks VERY familar like the one I have but from another manufacture... Do you know the lifting inches? Mine lifts to 24".

Thanks,
-Nigel

Either way, it's a great looking jack. Can't be any worse than the orange one in my garage! It's priced right for what it is. Sorry about the photos and the typos. My old lady was trying to get me to move along. I couldn't find it on SAMS website or their crappy app.i recall it had a T as the first digit in the model number.perhaps a Torin?

and according to the area rep I spoke with snap is trying to get out of the contract and cant

Or that could be just damage-control spin to keep their regular high-end customers as they cash in their brand.

In either case, they licensed their name for use on low-end products.

The value in Snap-On brand isn't that they make the best tools. It's that they have carefully checked each product they sell under their brand name. You pay more, but you don't have to spend the time researching that the product is good.

They've thrown that value away.

They may now wish they hadn't, but it has happened. It's now just another brand name that has history but no longer means "high quality tool made in the USA"

I would definitely say you're over-exaggerating. A couple of cheap rebranded tools at a retail store isn't going to damage the brand. The people who buy Snap On aren't buying it at Sam's Club. They're buying it from the truck that shows up every week to their shop. The truck where they can warranty or finance high quality tools.

These cheap tools sell to homeowners who don't typically buy Snap On.

Even so, some "homeowners" know their tool brands too, and this does water down the brand. I don't make "Snap-On money", I don't even make "Craftsman money", but I still know enough to know that neither brand means what it used to. If I have to research beforehand to see if I'm getting the real deal, the brand name means less.

I don't know about the jack but I've been wanting a shop stool. I know this one isn't made by Snap On but I'm sure it's good enough for the purpose and for $35 who cares. Unfortunately I stopped by local Sams on the way home and no dice, they didn't have it :(

My SO rep had some of those stools on the truck. They were free giveaway with $200 purchase. I got a 3/8 torque wrench and a stool that day. The stool is a little flimsy but works fine. He told me He got a bunch down in las Vegas at the recent expo.

My shop stools are kinda ragged, and hell, sellout branding or not, if my local Sam's has those I'll probably buy a couple for $35. You can't beat that price even for a plain one.
