She'll love them!

Lets just hope she doesn't find out how they leave marks on the furniture.

Elroy trusts you realize you just stepped in a big hole. Next year she'll want her own shop :bounce:

It's a never ending vicious cycle

She's gonna need her own workbench, that fits her height, right next to her papa's.

What about not wrapping it at all? Every year Santa leaves one or two presents under the tree for each kid that is not wrapped. When they come out, they get to be excited about it, play with it, etc, with no help from Mom or Dad to unpackage, watch unwrap, etc. We are there, and usually video taping, but it just starts the day off in a fun way and make it easier to get coffee, get going, etc.

With little kids, I find it best to have everything out of the package upon gift giving time, if possible. No kid wants to just pile up a bunch of fort knox-like packages and not play with anything just a little between presents.

We usually have santa leave each kids big present out unwrapped.

i guess im the only one who says wrap it separate.. i think there is so much excitement and joy opening them individually... eg if i were a kid and opened the tools id be like whoa! then the next gift being a tool box is like double whoa! "whoa whoa!!" cuz theres more of a surprise which i believe is the whole fun about gifts. and now you have a "set" and the first thing i would want to do is open both and put all my tools in the box. that way i feel like i could "use" them already just my .02

this is what my 3yr old is getting..... he digs through all my stuff in the garage and trashes the tool truck when he goes up there with me...
If I give him real tools he takes out every screw in the house and beats everything with the hammer.

Merry Christmas to all of you. I salute ANY dad or mom who gives their kid a gift with some thought as to the value of LEARNING a little something. And extra credit to any parent who gives gifts which that parent will actively participate in using WITH the child. In other words, if you are a good enough parent to think carefully about buying a gift for a child, and then to buy a gift which requires your commitment to participate with the child and teach them ANYTHING, then you are a great parent, and I salute you.

Sincerely. Merry Christmas everyone.

I saw those tools at Lowes. They also had quite a few project kits. I was hoping the kits would have more work involved (like cutting), but they were mostly just minimal assembly.

Here is a tool kit I bought for my boys. I had the same kit when I was a boy. Dated 1977...
