Sargent Plane

I received a vintage Sargent 1508 1/2 Rabbet Plane. I didn't know anything about it, but further research with limited results shows it is very old (100+ years) and desirable. Does anybody here have one? Apparently they're worth a decent chunk of money, enough to make it worth selling. Regardless, it's a stout old tool

Here is a reputable source on pricing, for REALLY CLEAN tools. If yours isn’t super clean, don’t expect quite that much.

One inch iron. Seven inches long. Fence and depth stop included. UNUSED! Note a tiny bit of nickel trying to flake off behind mouth.

I do not have one, only seen in pix. If I had it, I would sell it once the novelty of owning it wore off. Would not be a user, except maybe to try it a few times, and giggle as I did.

Sargent is as good as Stanley, or Millers Falls, when it comes to making quality planes.

Nice, I'd be happy with a chunk of that price. It's in good shape but not like that one in the link. It's a really cool looking tool

You realize that is a miniature P Hamler repro, right? Might be rarer than an original.

I thought Bode's price was a bit high, but I have not looked at Ladybugs In a few years.

Opps, I had no idea that was a reproduction. I was just shocked how high that price was. I understand that the very best of the best gets a premium, and he collects it. Still, 1000% is a lot of premium.
