I think they're Chinese Danaher. By that I mean they are a large Chinese tool manufacturer that puts out more than Matco clones. However since Danaher is selling more Chinese made tools mostly from the PRC and seems to be reducing the amount of tools made in Taiwan, Sata may be one source for those Gearwrench and Matco tools wthout those three little letters USA on them.

Yes, SATA is similar to a Chinese MATCO - although the distribution model is a little different.

SATA is a large manufacturer and part of Danaher Tool Group.

I have an ATD Tools socket set and have been impressed with the quality feel of the sockets and the ratchet. I have wondered which of the overseas tool companies made it. After browsing thru the SATA web site I'm pretty sure I now know who it was.

A 1975 Datsun B210 is not a great car. A 2009 Lexus is a great car. The same with tools. The problem is why it happens. IMO
