I let the reviews dissuade me. Anyone have this set?
I have a set similar to it from Gearwrench that I bought 5+ years back. I've never actually used it to do anything other than keep my toolbox liner from jumping out. For me at least, pass through sets like this appear to be a solution in search of a problem.

what benefit does this provide over a ratcheting wrench? Other than it would hold the nut in place, if that makes sense… I think ill pass.

I bought a Crescent set the other year for the express purpose of leaving in the combine (has many long threaded belt tensioners).
I could have bought a few selected ratcheting wrenches to do the same thing, but the crescent set was cheaper at the time

Otherwise i see little use for them

Pass thru with extensions remove the need to have both shallow and deep sockets.

Can put nuts on long shaft.

Can be used when you need to hold the shaft from spinning when undo the nut. Think sway bar end links

Can be used with gearwrench serpentine belt set making the overall depth much less than normal wrench plus socket. Can be even shallower than low profile sockets and ratchet. I actually used them to replace long flex head wrenches.

It is a specialty tool that's not used very often. But when you need it, it is great.

I don’t have this set but do have a combination of GW and Craftsman ones. They work well - I mostly use them for specialty stuff - long studs in some areas, and they also work well in low clearance areas too so long as you don’t need a flex head. I don’t need them very often, but they are nice to have when needed. I got all mine when Sears closed up and the clearance deals were good.

HD sells a smaller set for around $35 I think. As I recall theirs is compatible with GW passthru sockets too.
