Found this nice Kennedy cantilever toolbox this morning. It's made of aluminum and the handle is synthetic/leather so it's not for real heavy tools. Paint damage on outside but inside is very clean Price was right--$3. I don't need it but I couldn't just let it sit there unwanted and unloved.

Search Kennedy tackle boxes on ebay, you will see a bunch of these used as tackle boxes. Nice score.

Question about my new box: Is it a tool box or a tackle box? The small dividers make me think tackle but I can't imagine anyone carrying a box this size fishing. I think I'm going to ask my son if he wants it for his remote control airplane stuff.

You must not be a fisherman. My buddy has 2 that size and fishing is just our excuse to drink beer away from our wives. You should see how much gear a serious bass fisherman carries.

Tackle box for sure.

I carry a tackle box that size when fishing, and still steal lures out of a buddy who has one quite a bit bigger. Im thinking tackle box if they made them.

Yes, tackle box for sure. And yes, Kennedy made tackle boxes. They also sold some to LL Bean which sold them with their logo, but they are definitely Kennedy.
Good score!

I swear my dad had that exact tackle box. I absolutely loved it. To bad he sold it a long time ago.

+3 on the fact that this is a TACKLE box for sure.

Kennedy made identical tool boxes, the only difference being that all trays were wide open, without the little compartments. I have several tackle boxes like this. The older ones were made of steel, with green-painted steel trays and compartments. Then they went to tan-painted steel, then later to aluminum. Or at least that's what my years of collecting vintage lures seems to suggest.

I just traded for a Kennedy roll around box and it needs some touch up paint. I know Kennedy Sells their paint but they think it is gold for $25 a can!!!!

Does anyone know of a cheaper paint that matches the kennedy brown? I know I won't get the wrinkle finish but I would just like some paint that matches for a little touch up.

Other companies make (or made) wrinkle finish but just now it's pretty hard to find. Google it.

Edit: why resurrect an old unrelated thread for your question?

2nd Edit: Pics (in a new thread) or it didn't happen...
