Got really lucky today when I happened upon a "yard sale" locally that turned out to be more of a tool sale. That NEVER happens around here. Local old guy with his daughter getting rid of his "stuff". He said to me "I have too much stuff". He sure does have a lot. We struck up a nice conversation first thing this morning, and I bought a nice old vise (Illinois Iron and Bolt Co.)and a great selection of snips / shears - everything old and USA:

The kids wanted to go back and check out this guy's stuff this afternoon... Wife was out with her friend, so what the heck?

Ended up picking up this crusty old Atlas No. 9325 bench drill press for $10. It runs, but is definitely a winter project. Old GE motor 1/4 HP. I didn't need it, but for $10 - how could I say no? He wanted $35 this morning...:

I also found a nice set of 7 SK metric open ended wrenches, and a couple more bonus SK wrenches (18mm and a 1/2-9/16"). Finally I just had to throw in this cool old Channellock wrench - I have never seen one like it. I think it says No. 110 on it. It also says PAT IN CANADA 1933. It also has a US Patent number on it - excellent condition:

$25 for the whole lot, drill press included.

My daughter found these in the clearance rack at HF. I never bought any of the lower anvils for my e-wheel after I bought it because work got the better of me. Of course, in the meantime they were discontinued.

They're normally $120 from HF, and since they were discontinued I've seen one set on ebay for $160! My six year old daughter was looking at things in the opened box rack and asked, "What are these wheel thingies?" Marked $20 for the lower anvils and $10 for the upper wheel! I was about to spend $400 on some Hoosier Profile anvils (which would be 100X better), but these saved me a few bucks until I build my new e-wheel.
