The dripping faucet in the bathroom requires a trip to the local hardware store. I show the guy at the store the cartridge and washer, He immediately says "Delta, I'll be right back". While he's gone I'm looking around and what do I find...

Funny thing. Just today I was looking around for a local source where I could buy a similar pair of hose clamp pliers (Irwin makes a pair), but no one carries them. Then I considered that they may be not be the hottest selling item around. I guess this is now proof! ;-)

Harry Epstein carries those made by Wilde.

Nice find. One of the hardware stores in Toledo (where I went to school) had an old wooden cabinet full of Crescent wrench repair parts. Where else could one find that stuff?

I went to an older hardware store today to get (50) 1/4x1 lag bolts and fender washers. Out the door cost me $5.47. I priced just the lag bolts at Home Depot at $.20 a piece. I love that old hardware store.

On the flip side, I went to an old school hardware store today for some 3/8" all thread. Their price was $5.99, while Lowes was $2.87, right across the street. The hardware store still has burlap sacks for sale in there.
