Sausage calk gun questions

Got a DeWalt 20V sausage calking gun in a estate sale anybody own one looking on line for sealant just plan on using it for gaps and cracks in my GP lap siding problem new window installing projects most of the sealant I see is fits all type mostly listed for concrete whats the best any of you have used.

The Dewalt guns are basically all the same, you can get conversion kits to use regular tubes instead if you want.

Sausage tubes generally work out to be half the cost of the plastic / cardboard tubes, ie they arectge same cost but have about double the volume of mastic in them.
They are good for large quantities, not so good if you want to use 1/4 tube and then store it for couple weeks.

I think you will find sausages to not be the right application for that project. Sausage is for high volume stuff
