Listed in Salem, OR for $125.00 by the Union Gospel Mission store. It even has the slow-speed idler pulley! There is a plywood table added, so no way to look for an "arc of shame", but otherwise doesn't look abused.

Interesting drill. That looks to be an Atlas Craftsman drill press from the early 1940's. They are really nice quality. I cannot tell from the photo if it has the chrome spindle cover on top of the spindle pulley cover. They are often missing and a bit hard to find.

But the 3rd pulley is from the later King Seeley Craftsman 100/150 drill press. The Atlas Craftsman 3rd pulley is taller so do not need to lower the head on the main post as shown in the photo. Otherwise it reduces the maximum height of what you can drill as shown. The motor looks like later early 1950's vintage or so.

Still, a great deal for $125. If you are a wood worker type and do not need less than 600rpm minimum speed, buy the drill press and sell the 3rd pulley for $125. So you end up with a free drill press.

I slightly disagree, I think that DP is mid 1930's. There is no on/off switch on the side and it has only 2 handles on the feed. After 1936(?) they had 3 handles, and shortly after went to 4 handles.

The $125 pricetag is OK, but I'd have trouble pulling the trigger. That's only because I'm a cheap *******. It should be worth that price if it runs right.

As for the spindle cover, you're correct, they are EXTREMELY hard to find. I spent a year and a half actively searching for one to complete my grandfather's 1942 model. I finally found one this month for $57 w/shipping (which kills the cheap ******* theory on the back end). They can go for more if you can find one.

The info on the reduction pulley seems correct. Mine is the taller version that came with the DP when it was new.

I have what looks like the same Dunlap motor on mine, it was bought by the original owner when he bought the DP new. It's still going strong. I'm the third owner.

All in all, that's a great drill press for an active home shop at a decent price. It will need some fine tuning, but nothing too difficult. The paint looks to be in great shape, and it still has the SKF bearing sticker on the front.
