Saved these cabinets from scrap

I was leaving work the other night and a co-worker mentioned he was going to throw a few cabinets into the CMS (scrap)bin. He said to take a peek in the back of his truck, and if I wanted them, take em.

They're in excellent shape physically, just dirty. You can see where I cleaned a bit on top of one to make sure they'd clean up at all. All the hinges work great and still "pop" open and closed nicely. Three of these upper cabinets for $0... not bad!

This seems to be them, so I guess mid to late 1940s? Pretty neat!

I did my garage 10 yrs ago with St Charles Cabinets. Now 10 yrs latter I snaged a entire set of kitchen cabinets. So I'm reconfiguring the garage and will add a larger compressor.

Those are OE style cabinets in my 1939 house. Mine are Youngstown Kitchens brand, still have the sinkbase and 2 wall cabs like it in service today. The PO moved a short over-the-sink cabinet to the garage way back when, if I get around to remodeling the kitchen the 2 wall cabs will join it. As stated, all metal construction and artdeco design makes um cool

Good grab, they make great shop cabinets. I have some from the 70s in mine. Not as good a deal though I had to come off $125 for mine.

Nice save . . . . vintage collectible cabinets, and they were going to throw them away?? Have they never seen Antique Roadshow, Market Warriers, Pickers, etc??

Don't paint over those labels . . . . If I were you, I'd install in garage in such a way that you can TAKE THEM ALONG if you sell house later on, and have to move your stuff out of garage. Those are keepers!
