Saving an old label?

1930s (at latest) Indestro set. I can barely read it on the box. Any ideas on saving the label / cleaning it up?

Use a clear acrylic varnish, Todd. A clear oil-based varnish will bubble a paper decal, although it doesn't look like that would be an issue with what remains. Also not an issue in this case, but I will mention it anyway as a cautionary note for the future, you can also use clear polyurethane, but never on a paper decal with white in it, as polyurethane contains linseed oil, which will yellow white paper.
