With appropriate sets your handheld squeeze can do universal (rounded) or countersunk (flat) head rivets. Might need to eat your Wheaties to hand squeeze a 5/32 steel rivet, assuming that's the size you need.

I mentioned using aluminum rivets on my box only to suggest that as one possible option.

What about the risk of galvanic corrosion using an aluminum rivet on steel?
Risk for such corrosion is super small as my beater box lives indoors, storing coins and receipts. I've experienced far worse bi-metal corrosion removing factory aluminum wheels from my Silverado!

Thanks for the comments and suggestions guys. I have a pretty heavy duty squeezer. I don't remember the brand, but it's not the flimsy type.

Here are some pictures of the latest progress. Somehow, I got some oil on the drawers, and they messed up the first time I painted them. I'm waiting on the weather to cooperate, paint them, and I'll be finished.

Beautifully done.

I almost don't have the heart to tell you that your large Craftsman stack was for sale at the local flea market this weekend. $75 for both top and bottom box and there were no takers. The metal was perfect on both but someone did a poor repaint on both.

I'm told that the stack is now at the local pawn shop since the seller couldn't unload it yesterday.

Thanks Horse. I would definitely buy that stack! They just don't show up down here that much. I bought every one of my Craftsman boxes just because they finally showed up for sale, and I was determined to have some Craftsman boxes no matter what. It was fun fixing them up, but I sure would like just a strip and paint set.
