I am looking at 12in' 80T saw blade at big box store. The prices are the same. Which one is better from your experience? Or either one is OK? Thanks for the comments.
I believe Diablo is Freud's second tier blade, could be wrong. Another good blade I like is Forrest. www.forrestblades.com
The main difference that you will have to look into deeper and research or read the fine print on the blades is the TYPE of carbide used in the blade. I had thought that the blade that came with my DeWalt miter box may have just been a fluke on it's short live. I bought another DeWalt- same blade type- and it's life was again short, considering that it was carbide tip also.
A little research and I found that the price differences on carbide tipped tools is more about the type of carbide used, C2 or C4. C4 is a smaller particle of carbide so this will make a tougher tip which will translate into longevity of the tool. DeWalt uses C2 and Bosch (last I checked) uses C4 as does your other more costly but premium brands.
I will most certainly pay a little more up front for a blade (Bosch, Freud, Woodworker are all brands currently in my rotation) to get the extra long life and time savings of by more cutting tools when it is not needed.
Hope this helps.
