Can anyone provide a link or better verbage for the (clear) vinyl protective stripe that comes on new saw blades? Not the wax, but the roll of plastic/vinyl?

What I'm really looking for is a CLEAR super low profile sheet metal edge protector.

My project has lots of cut 18g sheet metal edges that I don't want the client worry about. I was hoping to find a very low profile
.010 -.0625" x .25" x .25"

Almost like a clear tape would work too?

edit* it needs to be inconspicuous and clean, these are furniture pieces

Thanks

What about clear pvc tubing? Cut a slit in it and slide it over the metal edge.
Thanks I've thought about this approach
2 issues
a- I don't think I'll get a tight fit and maybe falling off
b- getting a consistent slit is hard

now this is almost exactly what I'm looking for!

the EGL-22 series
$176 for 500ft

not terrible but about 5x what I need 🤔
Industrial stuff is like that. Sometimes I bite the bullet and buy it hoping to use it up some day. Other times, knowing what it is and having new search terms I'm able to find it in smaller quantities. Often those smaller quantities are as expensive as the bulk buy so I end up buying more than I need anyway.

Is this permanent, or just until product is installed?

If non permanent, can you wrap in thick vinyl tape?

Ease and buff the edges? Radius, ease and buff the corners? Seems that would be cleaner for furniture use.

Permanent

Ive radiused and eased all I can, its reclaimed material including perforated and corrugated odd ball metal. Without going way over time and budget I want to provide a "customer proof" solution even in places that shouldnt have any interaction.

I did find a clear tape that 3M and others make for this application, ordered, will test.

Back when my hands worked better, I'd use my TIG to "flame-polish" the edges of stuff like that. Done well, it leaves a micro-bead and looks good. Basically just passing the TIG torch on a low power setting down the length of the edge.

Is the #m stuff their UHMW tape? Not sure you'll be able to get it tight to that tiny radius if so. I use it for friction reduction and it's pretty stiff.

I can't imagine doing that on a production run. Small scale, though, it would look neat. Then again, not everybody has an appreciation for a well run bead.

Interesting I've not run across that technique, sounds cool.
Jobsite doesn't have tig, plus I've got about 100 lf which sounds like a full day of steady hands

I purchased a clear urethane tape, .375" x 8mil

Knockoff brand actually gets better reviews then 3M?
At $ .37/ft it's about the same as the Caplugs Edge liner product

Not the same product I was talking about. Urethane is much more flexible than UHMW.
