That's a familiar scenario.
Mine is the welding shop!
I’m pretty sure it’s a universal condition.

I cut up a couple treated Douglass Fir poles for a buddy.

I didn’t want to leave the dust from those to spread/get mixed in with other sawdust.
A thorough cleaning was in order. 4 big bags of dust that have a kerosene type smell.

I’ve been watching for a vintage log scale rule.

Finally found one online. Price wasn’t in the Stupid range.

Going to put it to work, one of these days.

One of the ratty ol logs I brought home had center rot, and termites.

Decided to turn the whole log into 7/8” x 7/8” x 42” stickers.

It’s a lot of work 🙄

No logs to mill today, but always plenty to do.

Finished up the sticker cutting, then painted the ends. This way I won’t mix them up with other batches of a different size.

Then I restacked the Toredo wood pile.

I had previously inverted the pile, with 12 footers on top of eights.

Lastly, I stacked some miscellaneous steel on top to help hold it all down. Might help with the bowing and such.

Next is to get it all covered appropriately, because we have rain in the forecast ☹️

The answer is simple- you need a new chainsaw.
Spent all available funds buying wood!

Picked up some 16’ 4x6s for skids, and some 2x6s for framing the floor of my kiln. All pressure treated.
I have enough plywood on hand for the deck, as well as studs from the Toredo log.

Going to be some variation of the Virginia Tech solar kiln.

Or like this one I ripped from the interwebs

Careful what you bring into your shop.

Another reason to use a kiln.

Sweat’n by **** off.

Ran a rototiller over the site to help cut up all the root mass from two 7 foot diameter junipers.

I then started removing the topsoil and grading to elevation for 4” of 5/8 minus crushed rock.

Decided to till all the beauty bark beds as well.

3 years of neglect had them looking pretty shabby.
