I ended up getting the Dewalt extendable with a few blades in a kit. 25% off at F&F. Holds a lot more than the Milwaukee, too; those were the options they had.

I've been looking for a longer, thinner tube that can hold up to 12" sawzall blades, no luck yet. They throw away tubes like this every day at work.

Found one!!
1-3/8" square, max opening 15 inches with no engagement of the two halves, so with 12" blades I will get 3" of overlap.
It fits, looks kinda of awkward but I don't care, it will do a good job I think! And free was a good price.

I use an old Pringles can. Fits all my blades and smells like 'tater chips! :lol_hitti

I love this idea except that I’d need a green can to match my makita saw and I hate sour cream and onion chips.
Now I have to buy a Milwaukee saw so I can use the red can :(

In the box on my truck right now, 2" PVC tubes with caps on one end, threaded cleanout caps on the other. Short tube for short blades, long tube for long blades, separate set for wood and metal.
in the carry box, a smaller diameter tube I fill with what I need for the job.
At least 150 blades at any given time.
Yeah, it might be excessive....
