Tool related but kinda surprised it killed the 1st batt so fast, they seem tah last longer when cutting up trees. The Makita cordless sawzall is one of my fav tools since I got it and the drill is awesome as well!

Here's my dumb vid if your curious LOL

It was fun at least, too bad all odd jobs can't be.

They say the best way to get rid of a large boat is simply a chain saw. Lop it up in small bits and it folds down like old cardboard . Then bury or burn at your leisure, Sell motor / outdrive for scrap .
Or[emoji39] my personal favorite. Take an old cardboard box cut out the biggest part. Grab a can of black spray paint and in big letters write FREE, TAKE AWAY on then plant in your front yard. No more old boat in a day or so. Hillbillies and hoarders just grab anything that’s free even if it is [emoji2955]”slightly” busted. Just ask any savvy landlord who lowers himself to taking in HUD critters.

I'm betting that the glass will wreak havoc on the chain. A sawzall seems like a much better idea.

As for the FREE sign, here's a better idea. Make the sign read $10. That will make it disappear faster than FREE. :)

If you offer something for free, people assume it has no value.

Fastest way to get rid of an old TV is to put it on the curb with a sign that reads "For Sale $10" and someone will steal it.

I had a jet ski in the same condition. I threw the whole thing in a dumpster at work. Problem solved in minutes.

Quick work Boot.

Ive cut up too many jetski hulls. Always keep the stainless hardware though. Some of the hulls are heavily reinforced on the underside and **** to cut up. Always itchy work.

I use the circular saw / sawzall combo.

I had an old wood sailboat a friend sunk it at his lake. They originally started with a diving bell the police use it for training. At last count besides the bell was 2 sailboats, boat shells, skidoos and even a plane. They recovered any engines and greasy parts before submerging them. He said there was also a bunch of bathroom fixtures.::lol_hitti
I guess it gives the scuba divers something to swim around.

I was leaving for work the other morning and noticed someone down the street had a pretty grimy, decent sized boat in their front yard with a cardboard "Free" sign, and it was already gone the next morning. I have to admit I was pretty surprised but im guessing it was the size of it that drew someone in

Great comments and story's guys!

I live on a deadend street so no traffic but I'm lucky the trash isn't too picky, long as I cut up w/e and it's easy to lift/load.

I know of a local small dumpster I could use but I don't want to ruin it for others and getting a helper to load/unload it is too much trouble these days.

My experience with FREE is then they want you to pay them to get it LOL

I liked the sawzall for this job, I did find another vid of a guy who used a circular saw but it seemed a lot more dusty or at least it sprayed the dust more. I get tree junk all in my chainsaw already but the hardware would be the main reason I'd not use one.

I saved all the stainless hose clamps and a couple hardware pieces, it's always nice when you can repurpose stuff and save a few $, long as it doesn't take up too much room. It would have been nice if I could of thought of a way to use part of the jetski for something but nothing came to mind and it's been out there for years! I'm slow LOL

Thanks for the feedback guys!

That video made me sad. If I remember correctly the GSX Limited was one of the first hot rod watercraft. I had two friends buy them the same day.

I often see these kind of items laying around or in horrible condition, not just jet skis! I know sometimes things happen and can't be avoided. But I also get insulted that people have a tendency to just neglect and abuse something like this until it is completely worthless. Why not just do regular maintenance, clean up an use it. Replace parts when they go missing or break. Or at least sell it it when you are done using it. How much did that thing cost new?

Just cut up a hot tub today and put it in a Bagster. same idea. The carbide saws-all blades are the way to go. Now if only my arms would stop itching...

Ditto. Bought a new property last year. Hot tub was a disaster. Some outfit wanted $400 to haul away. Sawzall with a demo blade, cut up into manageable chunks, into the truck, $50 at the dump, done

Hot tubs I'll have to rem that! My local dump is $75 a truck load and I got full load already I need to take in. Mostly glass doors, windows, a ton of 8' fluorescent bulbs(old biz my dad had) and a couple old water heaters(this house eats water heaters).

I recently cut up the spa at my folks house and hauled it off. Dad’s HF sawzall with a demo blade made short work of it. Gloves and a respirator were my friends. The last house I rented came with a nasty spa (broken and half full of brown water), I insisted the landlord have it removed before we moved in.

FYI: Old 8’ fluorescent bulbs are universal hazardous waste that contains mercury. There is likely a household hazardous waste program that will take them for free, but they don’t belong in the landfill. Sometimes home improvement stores have recycling collection points for them.

Update, got rid of half of the larger pieces. Last week I saw my neighbor went out to talk to the trash guys as they loaded the trash up, I could see him pointing at my house. This week they didn't take the 2 smaller pieces I set out. Thought we was cool, some people!

I'll take the last 3 pieces to a dumpster I have access to.
