Hi y'all. My name is Dave. I stumbled across this forum while doing a google search. I've been a Toyota Master tech for almost 30 years, so needless to say I have a fairly significant collection of tools. I've had this Snap-on box for almost 20 years now.

It gets a *light* cleaning periodically when work is slow, and I try to wax it at least once a year. The box was about $6k when I bought it new back in '92. I think they're about $10k now. I also have this little guy that I picked up off Craigslist. It definitely saves some walking when working on something at the other end of the car away from the big box, and the big box is just too damn big to drag around the car behind you.

The Mac emblem was looking pretty shabby, so I pulled it and replaced it with the gold Camry emblem you see on it. Lord knows, Camry's have paid for an awful lot of tools in those boxes.

I have a couple other tool sets at home. One that stays, and one for travel when necessary. Mostly a collection of stuff I brought home from work after upgrading. I definitely have enough at home that if (heaven forbid) something happened to my work box, I could drag my home set to work and get by ok.

I found this forum because I was looking to see what the demand looked like for the Mac gold tool series. I have the COMPLETE set from 1985 - 2008, which was the last year for the series, AFAIK. I kept them on display in our China hutch for the last 15 years or so. The wife has been on me all that time about getting them out of there so she could put some actual CHINA in the china hutch. After all this time, I finally gave in. We'd been shopping for a new hutch and finally found one we really liked, so I guess it was time to make the switch. I really, really, REALLY wish I'd taken pics of everything BEFORE I boxed it all up, b/c now I'm going to have to un-box it all and then re-box just to get pics, but oh well...hindsight is 20/20, ain't it.

So anyway, it's my intention to post up that stuff for sale sometime soon. I know well enough that forum etiquette dictates that I post here first. So that's my story and I'm sticking to it. ;) Once I get motivated to un-box all that stuff again, I'll get pics and throw them up here in the classifieds. Thanks for listening to my story.

D Dave
