Thank you.

I will be moving my compressor to an unheated barn so the float system will not work for me due to freezing. I am thinking on using the pneumatic moisture-minder.

OP - sorry for derailing your thread. Very nice SB compressor you have!
I looked at those as well. I really like the Tsunami stuff, hope to get a Pure 5 regenerative dryer, maybe next year.

What Oil is recommended for Saylor- Beall's compressors?
and or what are you using.
Dig the Flir pics...
Gearing up for their VT model (don't really want a vertical, but my area demands it where it's going to be placed).
I just noticed your question, sorry about that. Looks like 30 weight non detergent oil.

I was concerned the vertical tank would tip over when I brought it in my garage, main reason I went horizontal. Lol

Hello & Thank you TJMtl, i asked because i wasn't finding the specific like you mentioned about the 30wt being non detergent. What's funny Smitty from Smitty's sales equipment at the time of sale said it should be 150 ISO, i did purchase a gallon of 100 ISO is all i could find, he did say the S.B. comes with oil, and the other night i'm reading here somewhere about people haven't changed their oil in years.

I use Royal Purple Synfilm Recip 100 synthetic in all of my compressors except one old SB with old school seals (they don't tolerate synthetic)
Amsoil also make synthetic specifically for compressors.

Hi TTT, Smitty told me not to use SYN'S because it doesn't capture the particulates and hold them to the bottom for splash pumps, he says it's fine for Pre-lubed and Vanes that have filters. He told me to call him anytime, but maybe you can explain it here for others to read that type of info, there's so much info i enjoy to learn that even subtle differences can enhance any system. Thanx for your reply. I did purchase the Mobil Rarus 427 (Love the 427 part):)

I believe he is confusing detergent (motor) oil with synthetic. Detergent oil is designed to suspend particulate in order to carry it to the filter where it is then captured. The Royal Purple and Amsoil synthetics for compressors do NOT contain detergents. Perhaps he was referring to Mobil One or other synthetics for engines.

Hey Compressed, One thing you need to be aware of is that the inlet to the '31' is 3-3/8" floor to centerline (1/2" NPT) and must be the lowest point between it and your receiver. TJMtl's horizontal receiver is mounted on a mobile base which elevates his drain. Beko also wants > 1% slope from the receiver to the '31'. If you're considering a '31', take this info into consideration before mounting the receiver as you may need to add standoffs under the mounting feet to gain sufficient height.

After i first came across your thread i did read up on it after larry4406 asked about it.
Apparently the SB comes with an auto valve but i do not know what the Lil' outlet looks like, i do not want to have to put a pan underneath.

The auto drain in post 17 is probably what yours will come with.

Used Dual control with the big compressor to blow out my sprinkler system. :) Worked like a charm.

My old Airtek 26gallon compressor gifted to my coworker.

I won an auction for a massive Walker Prodry regenerative air dryer. Then the auction co said the item was not supposed to be sold. Grr. I think the price was too good to be true.

Was that an ebay auction? You probably hit the nail on the head.
I had a similar issue years ago and got the "Oh sorry, the girl in the front office sold it locally as she didn't know it was listed on ebay"...sure

bidspotter

My feeling is the new tenant wanted a market value for the dryer, there was probably no intention to sell it for removal.

Sounds like you're enjoying the Saylor-Beall.

I bought a used S-B 705/80 upright from my friend's shop, he sells/services compressors over a 3 county south FL area of nearly 6 million population. He has two techs on the road, and he's in the shop.

You'd cry if you found out what I paid for mine, w/a Baldor 240V 1 ph new motor, new circuit box, and pressure control w/H2O separator.

The water trap and pressure regulator I also bought, Arrow.

One he bought off the junk truck which calls on him frequently, looks like mine, but it isn't.

The freight delivery truck dropped off an order of compressors for customers, these are all pre-sold, and will only be in the inventory until his techs can deliver 'em.
