Hey all.

From these two photos, what can you tell me about this? Pump size...tank size...hp...etc?

And at what price point would it no longer be a VERY good deal.

I have zero idea what he's going to ask for it. It was his grandpas...he thinks it should run...We'll check it out when I get there.

Thanks.

Looks like a 703 pump with a 1-2hp motor. It's quite rare to find a 703 used, well at least around my area. It's more rare to find a two stage with those specs, perfect for garage and it will run much more quiet than competitors.

how much the guy asking?

Judging from the size of the tank and motor, it looks like it would be the 705 / 5hp model.

To get a referance on pricing check this thread posted by Garage Dog

Its super slow to fill up. In the last 10 minutes went from 0-60 psi and still going. Is this normal bc its 120 gallon. Or a weak pump? Bad rings? 2hp motor is undersized? All the above?

Ok. Ran it up to 130psi and I shut it down b/c its at an estate sale and there was people in the garage. Didnt want a bomb. The gauge goes to 200psi...so idk shut off.

I drained the tank. About 8 oz of fresh clear water.

I tried the calculation from my phone but no luck. 18" pulley on pump. Pump says 300rpm and 500rpm....motor is 220 2hp 1740rpm with a 5.5" pulley.

I bought the damn thing with all air hose and 30 feet of cord for $375.

Well, here's some photos. I ran it up again and it shut off at 130psi. I must have shut it down manually right before auto shut off.

that pump looks like it belongs on like a 30 gallon tank thats probably why it takes so long to pump up, you may want to look into a larger pump.

Looks pretty similar to the pump on my 1957 60 gallon DeVilbiss. It's not that slow to pump up though.

Keep in mind though, the tank in question is 120gal, so effectively 2x the time needed for a given pressure to be reached due to 2x the volume.

That's true, I was thinking linear psi to psi.

My DeVilbiss is a workhorse, I ran that thing constantly and it'd just come back asking for more. Hopefully the OP's pump will be the same.

Hey guys, Thanks for the info. So, the 330 pump is a workhorse that's been around for 60+ years.

The 330 was on a lot of 60 gallon tanks.

Mine originally had a much larger pump and 5hp motor.

But as I'm just a hobbyist, I can't see the current set up being a problem. Either way, I have ran across big old pumps and motors in the past, and I'm sure I will again...I can always upgrade...

BTW, this thing is FRIKIN heavy!!!!
