Hi all. First post here though I've been visiting the site for a few years. A few years ago I got my hands on a SB 705 compressor in great shape. Long story short, several improvements were made. Many courtesy of information found on this site. I'd like to finally get around to sharing what I've got to hopefully help others.

There's a TON of things I learned throughout the rebuild. I could talk forever..but I'm not gonna bore you. Here's a bunch of quick facts and a mess of pics.

Model: 1990 VT-730-60 SB, 705 pump, 3hp

Re-done/replaced for leaks, appearances, and serviceability:
- All copper tubing
- All brass fittings
- Pressure switch (Square D)
- Touch up paint (Rustoleum Verde)
- Tank check valve
- Air filter
- Oil drain

Upgrades:
- Aftercooler
- Spal fan
- Transmission cooler
- Fan power supply
- Fan thermistor (for power surge)
- Custom mount

-Filtration
- Bulk water remover (aftercooler)
- Initially Milton generic filter
- Changed to 3-stage Hankison filters

- Plumbing
- New sweated copper lines for flow/gauges
- Silver solder for vibs
- Cox 75ft slow retract reel
- Desiccant for pump (had water buildup issues)
- Unloader air-into-pump block device (to prevent unloader air from entering pump. again, water issues)

- Electrical
- New wall fused disconnect
- 50amp outlet + cord
- Added on/off switch
- Added hour meter

- Sound
- Walls around compressor lined with 2" foam
- Soft feet

What model is the trans cooler?

Hayden 1268
200PSI WP, 300PSI design pressure. Factory tested to over 300psi (per contact with Hayden)

This thing is way big for it's purpose. Half the size would do the trick nicely, which are available. I didn't know how big I needed it so I went with the largest I could fit
