Is anyone familiar with the disassembly of these valves? That little allen bolt seems to be much tighter than I would expect. I don't really want to clamp it in the vise but there is no holding it to break the bolt loose?
It’s safe to clamp the valves in a vise. It’s not a sealing surface. You can also put some softer material in the vise to prevent damage such as a couple pieces of aluminum or copper.
I found two bolts that would fit in the slots in the valves then cut the heads off of the bolts then put them in the vise and then laid the valve on top of them and broke the Allen bolts loose.
