if you're changing to an aftermarket cooler I would go with a
-6 an fittings. The transmission will need 1/8" npt to -6 jic adapters. These are so much easier to work with than the factory style lines.IMO

Check out InLineTube for information.....you should be able to get pre-made lines...even stainless.....

But before you do anything else....you must post pics of your car....

You can buy them as mentetioned above, auto trans were factory so prefab is out there 50 bucks.

AN fittings double the material price and unless you have experience building the lines. I would say stay away from that. They are very good if you pull the motor and trans often, but overkill for a street machine.

However if you are inclined you can make your own use 5/16 OD tubing and 4 fittings. A coat hanger can be formed as a templet for the tubing run and bend accordingly, tube bending and flaring tools needed. Photo shows lines on left rail up too the cooler. You can get the idea of whats happening not a Nova but lines are lines these were hand built.

i replaced my trans lines with -6 an stainless braided lines when i had the drive train out last time with the fitting size of 5/16 inverted flare going to the -6an hose adaptor for a 700r4 trans.
for a th350, if they still have the brass inserts, they will accept a 1/2-20 inverted flare fitting. i dont remember the size of the thread if the brass insert has been removed.

Shoulda wrote that in bold and underlined it!! Best thing you can ever do when doing it from scratch, easy, touch more fluid capacity dur to larger ID of line, guarunteed no leaks, ever. Easy to make and install...other than inital price point it's a serious no brainer. Wanna get really fancy install some Jiffy Tite fittings on the lines coming off the tranmission so if you ever do need to pull it, you uncouple the lines just like a air coupler...just be sure to reverse the female and male on the input/output line...not that it will really matter but it's just something that makes life easier since you can easily identify the input/output of it.

I switched literally every connection from cooling, to brakes, ******, etc...over to AN style and man what a piece of cake it was to work on after that.
