There was some discussions about the warranty... I think few threads mention when this first happens is to ask them go back to sears... now with sears going down... I don't think SBD is picking up those warranties...
As far as that "new" again facility... I just chuckles.... Nothing wrong with it. but didn't they been working on this for a few years now...Not sure.

Just an example:
Proto - Industrial (USA)


Proto is no longer entirely US made and hasn't been for a while.
Ratcheting wrenches are mostly made in Taiwan aside from the eyebeam series. Locking pliers are made in Spain. Proto round head palm control ratchets are made in Italy. Their fleet tools are a mismash of suppliers mostly from Taiwan.
Digital torque wrenches are imported and the list goes on.
I still buy Proto because, it's great quality even if not made in the USA.
