Conditions were bad pretty much all day. Didn't really get any good pictures because of it. And the kids didn't get to spend a lot of time on it because of the wind. Oh well. We still had fun.

I do enjoy it myself but my son has fun on it and it's fun watching him. He's still a little young though and it's been pretty cold here in Chicagoland. Also don't know how I feel about posting pictures of my kids on the internet but here's one.

Also a very short video on youtube.

^ ^ ^ Too cool video of your son running the mini-Dozer. LOVE it !!

Question for tech folks out there . . . . what's story with URL's for YouTube lately??

Above starts out with . . . . . www.youtu.be . . . . ?????

When clicked, it turns into:

What the heck is . . . . . . . . . feature=youtu.be . . . . . . ??? :dunno:

^ ^ Thanks. I was guessing they were running out of combinations to keep track of the quadrillion videos. ;)

If you look, the “code” is still the same in either link. In the case of the one above, it is the “0rJRSq19yXo” part. the youtu.be link just strips a bunch of the rest of the link out - and automatically expands it, as you found out.

By the way, really cool “toy” you made there. If I were your son, I’d have bundled up in about eight layers and spent the whole day out there! :)

Between yours and Don Campbell’s threads, I’m getting the urge to fabricate something with tracks!

The machine is just bad-*** and an amazing show of fabrication skills. :Mr.T:

Thanks guys. I'm gonna need a bigger house. Better yet, a bigger garage. I'm hoping to add on this summer. Going to start planning soon. I'm going to need it before the next project.

The one on the left showed up the other day.

Still have a lot to figure out. Almost need to start buying some parts so I can get measurements. Now that the weather is getting nicer, I'll make a trip to the junk yard to find some axles. But I'm going to need more room before I even think about building this.

It's about 1/4 scale. 9' long 5' wide 5' tall.

Why a dump truck? Why not a front end loader? Backhoe? Semi truck? Because. I don't really have a method to my madness. I always liked dozers. So I built one. I always liked big mining trucks. Will build one soon. I also like tanks. We'll see on that one.

In a few years your son is going to have the largest 1/4 construction company in the world and no yard will be safe. Very cool.

Like the keychain. If you do build the dump truck, will there be enough room under the bucket for you to sit? You know, to try it out to make sure it is safe...
