Hey guys, getting ready to purchase a new scanner setup. I'm leaning heavily towards the Autel MaxiSys Elite as Amazon has it now for 2500 with the J2534 programming box and 2 years free updates. I like the fact is has a pass through interface and wireless communication and runs on open source Android. I used one for a couple months and really enjoyed it over the Snap-On scanners I used, plus it's about half the price of the Snap-On, even more if you consider you get free updates for 2 years. I think the Snap-On is like 1200 or so to update each year. Auto Enginuity is 1500 for full support and another 1000 for the programming box, so that's not really a good option and you still need to provide a laptop to use it on. Just curious your guys' thoughts.

I've got the older version of this (2013) without the programmer though. It's a great tool for the price and does some things that a comparable snap on unit won't.
The only thing that I didn't like ( I went from a snap on to a autel ) is that it's not as dummy proof, or user friendly as the Snap on scanners. Meaning that some things you have to go searching for, they aren't there plain as day like a snap on.
I just recently did a full brake line replacement on my father in law's truck and it took me about 15 minutes to figure out the right code to click on to activate the abs valve to purge the air out when I was bleeding it. That's really the only complaint I have about it, but then again I'm on 5 year old technology at this point.

Just wanted to bump this up that I ordered the Autel Elite with the J2534 programming box and 2 years free updates. Ended up being 2500 with shipping, should be here tomorrow.
