I am wondering if Autel should be avoided due to security issues with their other products(drones) that is in the news right now?
"Security" is mythical. Everything has vulnerabilities... i wouldnt worry too much unless they outright said that they themselves were going to do malicious things with your data and credit card info.

So I have a Snap On Solaris Pro I bought used a long time ago and it still works except 2 of our 3 cars are to new for it. My car has a ABS issue and my wife’s outback has a rough idle so decided it’s time to upgrade.

I’ve had a small Launch code reader for just engine stuff but really like it. The one thing that is important to me is bidirectional and data reading, I ended up ordering a Launch 431x CRP919 scanner and wondering if anyone had any experience with them.

LAUNCH X431 CRP919E Elite OBD2 Scanner, 2025 Bidirectional Scan Tool as CRP919EBT, CANFD & DoIP, ECU Coding, 35+ Service, Active Tests, All System Diagnosis, FCA Autoauth, BST360 & TPMS, 2 Year Update
