I am looking for a decent scan tool around 150-200 that will work with BMW's and Nissan products. What do you recommend?

BMWs ? All your going to find is basic function. Those cars are nasty, anything newer that is.

I'd recommend autoenginuity. I use it on my sprinter vans and its excellent.

AUTEL has a dozen models that will do German and Japanese at a higher level than generic OBD. I have AUTEL 802 that does my Sprinter and my Honda, the Honda has the same data list as the factory scan tool. The 802 and other similar models will do OBD, trans, SRS, ABS and some body.

Check what is available for your smart phone. 6 yrs ago I got one for my wife's Mustang when the ABS light came on. It couldn't give me in depth detail but did point to the abs ecu itself rather than a sensor.

Autel MD808PRO...probably the best bang for the buck scan tool I've ever come across. It's an all systems scanner, so does the big 4 plus all other stuff. On my Lexus it can read more than 40 different computers (and it shocks me the Lexus has that many lol).
