Hello all..its been a while....
I decided to updrade my little Delta 6" grinder when i saw this bad boy
It appears to be a Schauer Model D3 with 10" wheels
Schauer Machine company also made the "Electrox Rectifier" brand products
http://vintagemachinery.org/mfgindex/detail.aspx?id=4164
So I wasn't surprised to see the 4 big diodes behind the power switch..
So its actually a big DC motor that turns the 10" discs....and appears to have been built during WWII
It purrs like a kitten has 2 grease cups and weighs 100# lbs.
I bought it for $80, well less than the price on a decent new 8" Chinese grinder
here are some pics....
Can anyone share any other information about other Schauer Machine Company products I did read that they only made them for a couple of years.
thanks again waltinbatonrouge
