I know you said none of the better brands, but there are some things to consider. While I like Stihl best and what I use for all my outdoor tools, Husquvarna and Echo both make very good products. There are a few others as well, but far less popular.
You can get the smaller models of the better brands for close to the same price as the mid size of the cheaper brands. You’ll gain quality, longevity, and much better resale should you ever decide to sell. You give up some motor size and a little bar length. Not a biggie as the cheaper brands tend to have too long of bars on them in the first place. Its better nowadays than it was a decade ago though when it seemed every cheap saw had a 20” bar.
Electric saws are fine as well and have advantages and disadvantages that have mostly been pointed out already. One note on the electric saws is that the safety garments don’t work on most of them. I always cut with my chaps, gloves, and helmet with face screen and ear muffs. Chain saws are consider the most dangerous power tool, so be careful when using.

What did it have on it?

We have witnessed the end of an era among outdoor power products. I have a MS361 and MS260 and will hold on to them till I die. These things will get more complicated, heavier, less powerful, and harder to fix. The MS362 is already a step in that direction.

They have limiter caps so they can not be tuned beyond what the EPA would allow. They come from the factory now running lean with not enough adjustment allowed.....
