I don't understand how they work/why you'd need them. Can someone explain

p/s lines, hydralic work, tight quarters along the firewall/bulk head. Sometimes you need to get to a bolt that you can't get straight on and is to far over for a universal. So you put the foot on the end of a long extension. Or if your doing valve adjustments on diesel engines. You need to hold the stud and torque the nut at the same time. You put the crowsfoot on the torque wrench and you still have access to the stud.

We use them all the time here at work when you have to torque a bolt or nut and can not get at it with a socket. Just don't forget either use the torque wrench only at 90 degrees or re-calculate your torque based on the added beam length (lenght*torque) / (lenght+extension).

They are awesome little inventions. They allow you to get to fasters that are to far away for a wrench but you dont have full access to. so a socket wouldent work. also on bolts where you cant use a socket but need it to be tourqed you can attach them to a tourqe wrench. but yes they are great to have.

A little hard to see, but at the top of the vertical face, where the bolt goes through for the bell housing, green circle. There's a mounting boss behind it, green X, that makes it hard to get a bolt out with a socket. Bolt comes out too far and the socket stops on the boss. Since it's in the trans tunnel, there's not much room for a regular wrench to make a turn.

I bought a set of Crow feet wrenches just for this bolt.

i have used my flare crowfoots for somthing probly no one else has

removing comfort grip handles i slip it around the narrow part of the handle and use the crowfoot to pry against so i dont damage the comfort grip while taking it off ill try and take a pic to show what i mean

If you are pulling out crowsfoot wrenches chances are you have a pain in the but job ahead of you. They work great and I have them in 10 to 19 mm and 3/8 to 2". Over a thousand dollars worth but when you need them they save a ton time. Mainly use them on hydraulic systems on heavy equipment and aerial equipment.

I work on vacuum coating chambers, and the base plate has 1" electrical feedthroughs. They are very tightly placed so the only real way to get at them is with a crows foot and large extension..

Aftermarket steering stabilizer for Dodge trucks. The castle nut has a long shaft so you can't fit a socket. Need to torque it properly, so crow's foot on a torque wrench did the job.

Hey NUTTSGT, is that a G Force trans for a T5 swap?

I got a V-2 5.0 myself with some TFS heads, fixed the T5 now three times since I got the Vortech, and have been looking at the G force trans. How do you like yours?

I have been thinking about taking that route, but I do have a nice AOD on the floor as well.... and I can build them cheaper than fixing the T5s.

My sentiments exactly. I specifically bought crowsfoot wrenches for power steering lines on pumps and steering racks where you can't use a socket and wrenches won't fit.
