As far as “heavy” hammers go…. I have a bunch of sledges that go from 4 to 12 pounds with various length handles.

I bought this one because it was a Williams and went with a lot of other Williams hammers/tools in general that I have. It was $20.00 as a Warehouse Deal (thanks Duker). I was hoping the description was incorrect and the handle was longer than 24” but I figured I could replace it if needed.

I have a post maul that is 16 pounds and I also have my Grandma’s post maul, I think that has a 20 pound head. She also had a tool that looked like a ice cream cone on a steel handle that was used for making post holes. That thing has to go 20-30 pounds too. It was picked up and dropped. Then one wiggled it around to increase the diameter of the hole. Rinse and replete till you get to the depth and width needed for the post. Grandma was a strong woman that over time wore out two husbands and raised a slew of strong boys to become strong men.
