KAL is a mixed bag.
The current company if it is still around, does very little retail and does mainly Government contract runs and runs for other brands. What little they sold retail 20+ years ago with a lifetime warranty, the current people running KAL will not warranty the stuff.
That being said and if warranty is not a concern, most of what they sold was semi-decent but they also intermixed a lot of Japanese made tools into their lineup.

How are their ratchets and wrenches?
I don't think they ever made their own ratchets and wrenches. I think they farmed those tools out. KAL is a pliers manufacturer and a very good one.

I have some KAL combo wrenches. All are marked USA. They have held up fine so far.
