These are very pricey Germain tools. I am posting this because a number of members have been asking about tool storage for the back of your car or truck.
I have never used them but have been temped a few times for some of the specialty Germain car tools like the Triple square sockets etc.

They seem to have a nice tool storage system for that purpose.

Looks like a house brand of ECS tuning, the website seems to indicate that. If it's like most of their products, it's probably china made with a German sounding brand name.

Right - they are the house brand of ECS Tuning. I don't have any personal experience, but a bunch of the guys on the VWVortex forums don't seem to think too highly, quality-wise.

They do have a bunch of specialty Euro tools that I'm tempted to pick up, but I haven't pulled the trigger yet.

I picked up a couple Schwaben tools when I had my GTI(oil filter socket and I can't remember what else). I never had trouble with them.

Thanks for the info. I did not realize they are owned by ECS. I have seen them sold on other European car sites in the past but I just went back to look. Now they say no longer available.
I just read this about the warrantee being Vaporware:

http://forums.mwerks.com/showthread...y-is-vaporware-especially-if-you-buy-at-Sears

They do have some nice specialty tools for German cars that are not typically affordable or easy to get fast.

I thought those were asian/import line tools :dunno:

The german-sounding name I think is just a marketing gimmick.

MANY of their things are virtually identical to HF.

Several years ago, I picked up their 3/8" drive torque wrench. I got tricked by the name thinking it was some nice German stuff. I was really bummed when I got a HF tool with a cheap laser etched "S" logo for 4 times the price. Literally identical tool/case/COO as the $10 HF special. I also ordered some oil filter socket wrenches that they didn't even try to fudge...Central Machinery brand (website at the time didn't list mfg).

To be fair, I've had no issues with the torque wrench. I threw the garbage filter sockets away.

So yeah...German...absolutely positively NOT

I am not doubting you but you won't find the Germain car specialty tools at HF.....not yet anyway. Still disappointing to hear about the poor quality and the inflated prices.

I've noticed some of the BMW websites sell stuff to rip people off. UUC sells a pointless clutch delay valve delete, I have no clue why, you can just screw the lines together without giving them 50 bux.

I have several of their tools for servicing my 07 335i:

BMW scan tool (rebranded Foxwell NT510 I think, preloaded with BMW software)
- it works great and is far more easy to use than breaking out my laptop for diagnostic/computer work

Suspension strut nut sockets
- haven't used them yet but appear fine

Interior trim removal tool
-I'm shocked I haven't broken any of these yet. I've used this on my other project cars and haven't been gentle in many cases and they've taken some serious abuse

Deluxe transverse engine support bar
-I like more points of support and greater range of use, that being said it's still in the box until I need to drop my subframe or I decide to test on my MR2

They have several tools that really appear to be BMW specific, and I have not come across an equivalent part from major manufacturers such as Snap On or etc. If I cannot figure out the supplier, then I take it as a completely in-house design and hope that they do not let me down, and so far my experience with ECS has been good!
