Ok, did some searching and finally saw a site that shows what is being shipped from one point to another. Have to sign up to it to get full access. But a sample showed that schwaben tools being shipped from chinese taiwan. That title seems odd but it msy be a chinese site thus that explanation. So I will assume for now that they are from taiwan. May not be bad.

I bought a schwaben 11mm brake bleeder wrench from ECS tuning or Bavarian Autosport (Cant remember) because the bleeder screws on some BMWs are tough to get on.. It does the job but it looks like its chinese. Not a very "fancy" tool

14mm spark plug socket. Excellent quality imo. Made the job easy. Very difficult to find this size.

Standard rebadged taiwan or china stuff. Nothing fancy. They are sold by ECS Tuning as their house brand.

A lot of the same stuff from HF and other bottom feeder brands just re-branded with a 50% tax

There is a few gems in the line up... but there's still cheaper/better alternatives out there imo

We supply them to our shops and as long as you use them correctly they are good. we have and Techs brake them.

Whatever I have bought has been 'ok', not great. I agree that its in the same ballpark as Pitsburg stuff from HF. I just don't like the deception that they are German quality. I am not a fan of ECS.

They imply that they are German but don't state it, nor is it stamped on the tool. It's legal, but deceptive. Snap On did the same.

Bought an expensive hub bearing removal set. The person on the phone (ECS tuning) said it was the set I needed. It wasn't. I...'deformed' the tool a bit trying to make it work. Returned it. They didn't mention anything and I got my money back.... so at least there's that.

I had similar issues with ECS, they seem to be confused about what they sell. You are lucky you got your money back. When I complained about the quality of the Schwaben torx sockets I was totally ignored.

I bought some parts from them working on a new beetle. I was less than impressed with them as they took forever to ship and customer service was poor when I received the wrong parts. I agree most if not all of their tools are rebranded harbor freight.

My experience with ECS tuning was not great, However on the BMW forums they are great apparently.

Naw, ECS is Ok but not great. FCPEuro OTOH has been awesome and they're about the only supplier I use these days, at least for my BMWs
