It's a 1988 Omer Vega scissor lift for wheel alignments. I posted this when I first picked this up in May 2010. Finally got it dragged in and after a week of figuring it out, I got it plumbed and works like a champ! That's a big relief off of my worries. I bought it o craigslist and of course the guy says it works...He was right.

Here's the bonus jacks that lift the axles separate if needed... 2 lifts in one.

Are you planning on putting it flush with the floor or just as it is?
I have only seen those lifts online and wondered what is the lifting and locking source. Looks like a lot of force is applied to hold the legs up in that angle.
Any way glad to hear you got a good deal on CL.

Is it three phase?

I'm guessing from the width of the track that it's got a pretty serious capacity. The parallelogram design doesn't seem like it should work, to my uneducated mind. But clearly it works great:

Very nice looking lift. One of the hidden benefits of those is the wide track that you drive on can be used as a table/bench to put all the parts on when you are taking something apart without having to bend over constantly.

I was wondering the same thing. When are you gonna cut the concrete and mount it in the ground?
My space is 30' x 80'. So it's not that cramped for space. (Also there aren't any cracks or bad spots in the whole floor, so I'm not going to create any problems, if you know what I mean.

Single phase, It is a weird feeling the first time I watched it go up. It seems as if it would tip over forward or something.

I used it for just that as I was figuring out how to hook it up. Great adjustable workbench!

It only had 2 guards on the axle jacks in the center, so I made 6 more out of some diamond plate scraps that were laying around. That will keep fingers from the rollers.

Thanks for the pictures. Its still a little hard to see how it works but I get the idea.
Ive never seen one support the load on its own cylinder. Never the less it is still amazing at how much force the hydraulic actuators can produce at those angles.

Here's the locking and lifting source pictures...

The picture on the left shows the stops engaging because of the weights on the arms...the third picture on the right shows the small cylinder activated which lifts the weighted side (right) of the arms thus releasing or pushing the left side of the arms down below the large cylinder, allowing the lift to go down past the stops

Here's the control console for the lift.
When pushing the lift into the shop with the forklift, the console was strapped down to the lift, but with the movement, slid off to the concrete floor...
After restarting my heart, i realized that the cover (plastic) would need to be replaced. So i made a clear cover for it.
