I bought a used scissor lift a year ago for very cheap, but No hydraulics.
Was planning on using it in my standard 2 car garage in the middle of the floor.

After careful consideration I decided to just sell the lift rather than have it permanently taking up valuable real estate in my garage.

Sold it for 3 times what I paid so life is good.......except

After paying me for it.......the purchaser NEVER showed up to take possession.
Communicated with him 3 different times....then never heard from him again, not sure what happened
So six months later I’m still looking at this lift thinking how I could use it. I know I will have to buy hydraulics for it but now that I have made money on it it doesn’t seem so crazy to invest in the hydraulics. The problem is I would like to make it mobile. To be able to move it in and out of my garage as necessary.
It Is extremely heavy.
Thoughts?

What type of scissor lift? An automotive lift or a scissor lift used in construction?

some pictures might help. What do you mean by "it doesn't have hydraulics?"

For a construction scissor lift, if you have to add all hoses, motor, cylinders, fluid, etc, you could easily have a grand in it and probably more.

Why wouldn't you just sell it again?

If you had to push it around, I suppose car dollies...jack it up and put one under each wheel.

Yeah, what type of scissor lift? This is what I've done with mine. Rase it a bit, block it, lower it, raise it again on dolly, remove blocks, lower. Repeat for other end.

I put the moving dollies right at the scissor joint when I want to move mine without using the pump stand cart.
I've done that too with a bigger dolly. No need for the blocks.

That cart/pump stand is pretty crappy as it is. Still better than a floor jack and stands though. Eventually I want to mount my pump on the wall so maybe then the cart thing might actually be usable to move the lift back and forth for different vehicles.

How extensive is the hydraulic system? Cylinders and power unit? Or just cylinders? Hoses? Hard tubes? Control valve? Load holding check valve? Hand pump? Air over hydraulic? There are lots of options if we know more about the system. But likely a lot more than $250. Check out Tractor Supply or Northern Tool as they carry hydraulics.

Enerpac makes a variety of electric/hydraulic power units. If there are cylinders already on the frame then a power pack is all you need to get it working, and hoses from the cylinder(s) to the power unit. But brand new they are not cheap; https://www.enerpac.com/en-us/electric-pumps/electric-pump-economy/PUD1100B

Some good deals on Ebay for air over hydraulic Enerpac units:

If you have shop air, then an Enerpac air/hydraulic pump is the way to go.

If the two pictures show everything you have, then you are missing:
* a power unit
* a hydraulic cylinder and all hoses
* a safety lock mechanism

Can you determine the manufacturer? If you are determined to move ahead with this, it would be best to get replacement parts designed for the unit.

Good luck.

That's almost a deal breaker. Or you could just throw some 4) HF 24" Jackstands under the corners of the lift. Most of us probably have 4 anyways and if you don't it's yet another reason to buy them. $40/pair plus 20% coupong plus an additional $5 coupon available til 3/29...That's 4 stands for $59. https://www.harborfreight.com/6-ton-steel-jack-stands-62393.html

Then a powerhead, cylinder and hose, bet it will cost at least $700. One of those little air power heads would help the cost, if the resivior is big enough for the required cylinder.

What's it worth to sale it again? That money plus the $700 in parts could get you real close to a complete usable used one.

Those air/hydraulic power units contain at least a quart of oil, maybe close to two quarts the last time I filled the one I have. It'll easily handle a 2" dia cylinder with a 4" stroke.

Yes that is what’s missing
A hydraulic ram from NT is about $100
The ability to raise and lower is where I’m not sure
I have not priced A power unit
