Hi everyone, I have a new midrise scissor lift coming. I am planning on making 2 support bars to lift my pickup truck. Commercial bars are made from 2x4x1/4 inch rectangular tubing . They are heavy at around 50 lbs. I am thing about making them out of 2x2x1/4 inch square tubing with a pad of 4x4 or 4x6x 1/4 flat plate welded on the ends to ensure they don’t try and flip. It seems to me they would be as strong and much easier to place under the truck. Am I missing something?
